The OP is using the word 'wet' as an adjective.

The definitions of the word as an adjective are as follows:

The first point clearly states "consisting of, containing, covered with, or soaked with liquid (as water)", therefore water is wet. Apparently anything "containing appreciable quantities of readily condensable hydrocarbons" is also considered wet.
