The OP is using the word 'wet' as an adjective.
The definitions of the word as an adjective are as follows:

The first point clearly states "
consisting of, containing, covered with, or soaked with
liquid (as water)", therefore water is wet. Apparently anything "containing appreciable quantities of readily condensable hydrocarbons" is also considered wet.
