The difference is that on Era you're paying money for a specific gun. It's not fair to release a gun and players pay for what it is, only to have it nerfed later. When guns stats change they should provide players with 24 hours to have a full refund.
It's comparable to buying an album and then a few weeks later they remove half of the songs you paid for with no refund.
