You can't compare the two. deadmau5 picked up Skrillex and took him under his wing. Skrillex broke through popularity through mau5trap, which is deadmau5's record label.

deadmau5 is an electro/prog house artist whereas skrillex used to do glitch house and now does dubstep.

Both are amazing artists but Skrillex has the most annoying brostep fans I've ever seen.
