I agree with rookie. Reading the thing you posted Dylan, the main point of keeping colors low is so if you have to go back and change something it doesnt create a disturbance with the neighboring pixels. However if you look at his work, it's small. Changing one pixel and the neighbors would take 30 seconds. It would be understandable to keep color choice small for a large piece, but for a smaller one? nah
I agree the color choice needs more contrast on this piece
Also people need to learn some aspects of art themselves and develop their own style. You can not force everyone into doing something just because YOU think it is right as it may not be the type of style someone else wants to follow. That is the beauty if art, no two pieces are alike and I advocate self teaching
