I guess this is a bit off topic (Nevermind incredibly off topic) but a lot of our creations made to improve health actually are causing quite a bit of problems. Take toothpaste for example. We don't actually need it our teeth could in theory fight off the bacteria on their own, as long as we aren't eating a bowl of sugar or anything else that we truly shouldn't be consuming (Unfortunately most of America does this). But toothpaste will actually kill off what allows our teeth to survive without toothpaste. I actually have friends that never use toothpaste, yes their breath is murderous but their teeth are way cleaner than mine... Fun fact of the day!

Throughout history average people have not made it past the age of 30 because of things like teeth decay and disease, medicine is part of the reason that, in this modern consumer culture, we can live to beyond the age of 70 on average. Although a good example of what you are talking about is the Tarahumara people of mexico, who live to 70 on average with no modern medicine by simply running large distances to hunt animals. But this cannot be done with the direction humanity is going, and if we ever want to get off this rock and explore the universe, we have to keep pushing towards progress or we will be primitive animals warring on a rock forever.
