Whether we pull out or not is not going to change the fact that Al Qaeda is going to attack the US. Even with the US Military out in these hot areas Al Qaeda still have schemes and plans to attack the country directly through crude and effective terroristic acts. Will it ever come to a military face off between Al Qaeda and US Troops? No. So regardless of us being out here overseas, I think a lot can be better spent on fortifying weak areas in security that the US faces. A lot more can be done stopping these terroristic acts and attacks in our own country rather than having troops out there in their turf. Because to put it in short for those of you that may lack knowledge or experience on this, deployed out here isn't easy. And what I mean by "easy" is the fact that identifying insurgents (enemies) from normal civilians since they can switch either way and rules of engagement states we aren't allowed to fire on unarmed civilians, is extremely difficult. So rather than spending time away from family to go around on a wild goose chase, why not prevent the ACTUAL realistic methods Al Qaeda will be using....
Not trying to argue with any of you guys. Just stating from experience and bringing in another perspective.
