Dear, Mrs. Jones
I am really sorry for trying to steal and run off with your purse, I was lying when I said that I didn’t mean to. All I wanted was the blue suede shoes that you so generously gave me the money for. After doing such a bad thing, you were nice enough to take me inside of your house and trusted me when you had the opportunity to take your purse and run out the door. You made me a great, delicious dinner of ham and lima beans from your icebox. Then after we talked about your job at the hotel beauty shop, to not embarrass me about how I live. After dinner, you cut me a slice of your ten-cent cake. I think it takes a very caring giving to take someone who was a thief trying to steal money, comb his hair, wash his face, feed him dinner, then give him money for shoes. You told me of when you were a kid like me and you wanted things like I do. You said you made mistakes also, and that makes me feel like I have a chance to make the right choices and end up as great as a person like you. And at the end of the day, when you gave me the 10 dollars to go buy the blue suede shoes, all I could say was “Thank you, m’am.” but there is so much more I wish I could of said. I appreciate how nice who were to me and how you treated me so kindly.
Sinceraly, Roger
