Okay, go to the principal alone and tell him exactly what happened. Don't lie or but just twll exactly how it went. He will most likely understand and let you go on the trip. After all, it's your word against the guy from the year below, why would he believe him and not you?
If he still wants to suspend you, tell the exact same story (no lying etc.) to your parents and let them talk to the principal. Good luck .
