It should actually be "levitated" in a case of suspension coils that absorb the energy from impacts, similar to suspension for cars/bikes. Most cracked screens aren't from direct impacts to the screen, but the iPhone being dropped and the screen absorbing the energy(and breaking). Gorilla glass is very scratch resistant(so screen protectors are useless O.o), but still fragile.
