It makes the world more alive, it doesn't matter that players can't do anything. I remember when I first started playing run around trying to help the npcs and do what they said lol. It made it fun. Then I started learning more about it and gaining some level of maturity, and it got stupid and boring.
I guess Graal is a lot more fun if you approach every little detail with an open mind.
