25* a guild that is hat chasing does whatever they can to obtain hat. Fair play imo.

Really 25? No, I have been active in a few tower guilds that I helped all the way, 6 in fact. Want to know how many guild hats I have? 1. Yes 1. After helping in 6 different guilds. I'm not the only one either, there were many other player who got nothing for the 1000 hours that they spent loyal to these guilds. Don't say it is fair.

I've never towered a day in my life, but getting rid of the 1k hats is absolutely absurd

Absurd? It is a major fix to the game. So many friendships have been broken, fights started. I don't think it is worth it. Not to mention the scoreboard littered with dead guilds made for the purpose of a hat.
