I've checked it like every week. Who hasn't?

This just shows birthdays for the last few months.
|
GST is always on a Saturday, check the dates for Saturdays.
|
You're right, no one on the whole server knew the correct date because of your transparent and timely notifications.
|
I don't understand what this means, even beyond the sarcasm.

UN can host many tournaments each month with fewer staff.

I don't know how you believe these two servers and their events can be compared.
- Currently Classic has 1830 players.
- Unholy Nation has 35.
- Classic's GST tournament has 96 teams of 576 players participating.
- Unholy Nation has 32 players participating, 64 at a push.
- The GST on Classic is the only tournament that majority of Classic players and staff have been exposed to on Graal. A tournament that has specific requirements for participation and only acommodates a small portion of the overall playerbase. Needless to say there is inexperience.
- Unholy Nation has several tournaments that are hosted throughout the week, and that have been going on for over 10 years now. Every active player has participated in at least one.
Like, really?

Many players here can also do a better job than the staff does with hosting this.

If you believe that you can do a better job of hosting a tournament then there is nothing stopping you. The GST started as a player tournament, where there were no formal registration menus, statues, scripts, belts or any of that. Those features were just added on when it became 'official' to the server.
I made a website with Jazz explaining the tournament and how to register, a few different players translated it into different languages, Luda made a picture to go into people's statuses, the word spread, we had 32 teams, it lasted over an entire weekend, and Memento mori won. It's hard, but if someone is confident in their ability to host a tournament then they should do it instead of waiting once-a-season to participate in one.
