It's more like joining an admin guild gives makes it easier to display your qualifications to some of the staff; therefore, increasing your chances of getting hired. Look at the admin guilds that are specifically for pixel artists for example.

And like I said, staff don't want to hire random people just because they're good at something, they like to know them well.
