There is a guide for practically every game out there. If people can't maintain self-control on ruining their games by using guides, then it's no one fault but their own. However some people find games ruined when they can't progress, and sometimes it is out of their control, so at least they have the option to better enjoy the game by skipping past frustrating parts.
