Still would not pay for a box on my head. I had a headset like that before and it was uncomfortable as hell, it probably makes you queasy too.

There was no headset with such latency or head tracking in the human's existence. It works the very same as pool googles >.>

We don't really care about your opinion, just give us reasons why not pre-ordering one. And make them valid.
Do some research before saying things like this. Of course it looks strange at the moment, its a prototype. But a "card board box with duct tape and a concept image"? That's rude and ignorant to say. It actually works, and its the best virtual reality headset that has ever existed. Look at the reviews of people demoing it. Also, it is going to be compatible with PCs, and games like Hawken and Doom: Bfg edition are already compatible with it in its prototype state. Remember, the dev kits havent even been released yet. Gabe Newel is a big backer of the project so expect Valve games to come to it as well.
Read more here. This man demoed the Rift, and it is an absolutey amazing peice of technology: http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/01/...gamings-future

Not only that, but Unity, Guitar Hero and many more staff from there are working on the Oculus Rift, even Notch! (Creator of Minecraft)
It has won the Best Virtual Reality Console awards, as a prototype! So what if it was the consumer version?!
