Someone cannot be more "equal" than someone else. Its a social hierarchy, whoever works more has better assets. It worked before, its just a dead idea now. However communism has an interesting property of being able to suck more money out of democracies and putting them into debt. Honestly, communism will probably outlast the US because of it, since if the US isn't destroyed by war from all the enemies they've made they'll suffocate on their debt and then just surrender the whole country or something.
