I would also say that if people created their own name for a shield, it would me more painstakeing. For example if I wanted to upload a shield with the name iamaadmin.png (random thing when i think of iphone people), and I wanted the shield name to be that. So bboy (or some other person who checks uploads) would have to check to see if the name already exists, and that is a pain if you have to do uploads and all of them say ilovesnk.gif or ilovebboy.png.. It is easier to have era_personal_shield_xxxxx-001.png.
