As for the story itself, the whole glitch thing was pretty creative and somewhat believable, but I would of hoped that the ending was a little more 'spooky'. Should of just showed yourself being warped into Ben's torture room.

The "glitch" itself is based on actual bugs observed in other games.
The information on exit pointers is factual, albeit taken from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time whereby altering the data caused shuffling of map warps, as seen here:

Incorrectly reading the player's name data for other variables was something that occurred in first generation Pokémon games, and what ultimately caused things like MissingNo. and the wild lv. 7 Mew to appear.
The reason why the glitch is

is real. Just from different games.
