Ya I don't like this. I saw an infograph... I think in total of the entire show zombies have accounted for a whopping... 3 deaths? While every other character was killed by a human.
Now zombies are nothing. They're not an obstacle, they're not threatening... or at least, they're not CONSISTENTLY written as a threat. They're only dangerous when the writers WANT them to be. Glen wrecks a ****ing zombie while CHAINED TO A CHAIR yet
I know they're exploring human dynamics during a zombie apocalypse, but it could be done better. They've basically made zombies background props, until the convenient moment they want bad **** to happen. Then suddenly they go from minor obstacles to "oh my god I can't kick this single walker away from me, the writers want me to die now!!!" plot devices.
I still enjoy the show, but I feel as though while the show is good, it could be better with a writer who knows how to properly structure the story. This season is like a jumbled mess, with so much merit, but gives me the impression the writers truly don't know what they're doing and just throwing **** together at the last minute. Take a show like Futurama, that feels so structured and has so many details that show the writers thought WELL ahead... and compare it to Walking Dead. Feels so unplanned and spontanious.

Exactly, I couldn't agree more. They're getting in depths with the characters, trying out the human dynamics, showing that humans are also a problem in the apocalypse. Yet, by doing so, they have removed the Zombies from the Tv show almost completely.
There is no action in the show anymore. It's simply a group of people discussing things having to do with the Governor, vice versa. The zombies are rarely mentioned, and usually used as decoration in the background. They aren't fearful anymore, the hordes are lessened and they are easier to manipulate. This was clearly the wrong direction for them to take, and yet they're still dragging it on.
