I agree that there should be something that deters players from killing themselves but I don't think that it should damage stats.
Feedback for the review: At the end of your review for castle you say this: "It felt to me like with one or two more skilled people we might be able to break through and take it, and that’s a feeling I never got at Deadwood."
The way you said it made it sound like a bad thing. I don't think you should be able to take a tower with only 2 people. (except for maybe York because that's just a fort for noob guilds) I think that taking a tower should be a team effort, not just a few people.
Other than that though it was pretty interesting to read this and hear some opinions. I also thought that the timing of how long it takes to get back into a tower was pretty interesting.

I hear ya, but put the emphasis there on the "skilled." I was saying that I liked the fact that being good at pking actually matters in the castle. Even though defenders have a major advantage with respawn distance, a few skilled players might be able to take the castle from a greater number of unskilled players.
At somewhere like Sardons, as long as the defenders aren't idle, there is really very little chance you can take those towers without having more people than the defending guild has, no matter how good you are.
