Drop systems are way more open to abuse than regular trade systems are, it's bizarre to have one system but not the other.
iEra's best course of action would be to replace it with a trade system for 'droppable' items, and then disable the drop system altogether.
Pros:
- Allows staff to properly log player-to-player transfers, with extensive logging they could trace an item back to it's origin and makes items easier to restore.
- Establishes a trustworthy middle-man (the server) to ensure the trade goes smoothly.
- By using the same 'droppable' flag with the trade system they still maintain the same amount of control over items.
- Staff could actually make the system profitable by establishing trade fees.
- Trade fee idea: Staff could implement a 'trade token' instead of allowing trading of gralats. 1 Trade Token could be bought for 120 gralats and converted back into 100 gralats after being traded so staff are still making a good percentage.
- Should significantly reduce the scamming problem and the toxic effect it has on the playercount.
