For only $60.00 a year that's not much at all.
|
For me, $60.00 a year is a lot. Also, again, its the ONLY console with online service in the history of the video game industry that makes you pay. So regardless of what you say, it IS a huge amount of money compared to anything else.

The playlists contain the same gametypes as other playlists just with different maps. You don't need them to play on the other playlists with those same gametypes. I'm specifically listing some PS3 exclusives because that's where I see it the most. For example, in Little Big Planet 2 people create community objects as rewards to players for completing their level. However, if you don't have the proper DLC you cannot use the items they created rendering the prizes useless. Also, in All Stars you cannot play as the characters until you pay $4.99 for each. Do you have to? No. You most likely will want them after seeing other players use them against you online. Of course, that differs from each individual. Your statement is wrong about the $14.99 map packs. It's $20.00 for 1,600 Microsoft Points so half of which is 800 which is how much the maps are making them only $10.00. Xbox has other good exclusives such as Fable 2 which aren't as popular now, but still good.

There have been a few map packs that were the equivalent of $15.00. That's regardless of my point I was trying to make though. The PS3 has ALL THE SAME GAMES as the Xbox outside of Halo, Gears, and Forza basically. Because the Xbox's library consists of almost entirely multiplatform games. So, they have the SAME DLC. And guess what? The DLC you are complaining about in just two Playstation exclusives (out of the huge amount of exclusives available on the platform) are commonplace in almost every game! So you don't even have a point being made here! You can play as the characters in All Stars, the DLC you are talking about is expansion packs with new characters. This is seen all the time in fighters such as Street Fighter X Tekken. The same thing goes to Little Big Planet, as in every game you cannot access DLC content without buying it. Its the players choice to irrationally use DLC content in their rewards, not Sony's.

I think I listed a couple in my first paragraph.
|
This is what you said in your first paragraph:
""Tne reason I pay is to play with my friends and talk with them in a party while we play a game.
The Xbox 360 also has good exclusives that I love playing online against people. Another advantage is being able to be signed in on multiple accounts (whether it's with a friend or someone) on a game.""
Nothing here is a major advantage over the PS3. The only thing you pointed out was party chat. Like I said, the only reason people buy Xbox Live is because their friends have it, and I'm pretty sure that's basically what you're implying. There is no significant advantage besides redundant things like party chat considering most people just use Skype when talking to their friends over the internet.
Also, how can you say Xbox has better online games than Playstation? I'm serious. Halo. Gears, and Forza are the only exclusive franchises on Xbox Live that have an established multiplayer. Want to know which franchises have established multiplayer that are exclusive to PS3? Journey, Warhawk, Uncharted, Gran Turismo, God of War, Socom, Killzone, Resistance, and regardless what you say Little Big Planet. Also, the PS3 has all the multiplatform multiplayer games that exist such as CoD and Battlefield 3. If you seriously think Forza, Gears and Halo are still a testament against the PS3's large library of online exclusives, you have another thing coming. Oh, and the fable franchise is basically dead now (look at the Kinect game that was released a few years ago).
