This is correct. The vast majority of Gaia Online items are tributes to some anime, game, movie, or comic books.
How is this shop owner not Storm from X-Men? How is this not Minato from Naruto? Rock Lee? Neji? Asuma? Naruto himself? Sailor Moon? Solid Snake? Aeris? Zelda? Tetra? You could really go on ALL DAY with Gaia's stuff. An MMORPG named Trickster also has a lot of this, including Power Ranger costumes if I remember correctly. Another MMORPG named Dragonica has outfits that you can buy for premium money such as a Kill Bill "kung fu" outfit and a Pokemon "red-capped 5-piece" costume.
