Believe me when I say that unlocked camera is mandatory. Not only does it help with certain long range champions like lux, but it also helps so much more with paying attention to other things.

Brought myself to Gold II without unlocked so I don't see it at all as "mandatory". I unlock the camera if I need to look at something around me or use a global ult or while I'm walking around / to lane, but in teamfights and
dueling, I use locked.
