Feels post.
In post-9/11 USA I had visited Rhode Island with a friend while we were in elementary school.
We were playing football (soccer) with a few American kids and enjoyed ourselves in a park.
One of them asked us where we're from, we told him.
The other guy then proceeded to ask us if we're Christians, but we said we aren't and explained to him that there's a religion called Islam and its adherents are mainly Arabic people.
The mother who was sitting on a bench overhears us saying that.
She takes the kids by their hands, quietly, and leaves with them.
The kids ask her what's wrong, she doesn't answer.
We sorta start understanding what's actually going on.

At least they forgot their ball and we had something to play with until some Brits turned up and we had a great time.
