A couple of things to maybe shed a little light...I know the majority of the Era staff quite well and assure you none of them promote racism. In my opinion, this is not a personal preference issue, but more of a process or possibly job performance issue. Sometimes it helps to understand the whole story before forming opinions or stating things as if they were factual when in fact it is just perception.
PR's are responsible for working reports which are accessed through a separate area in the game, they do not populate in regular RC chat. In between the tons of pms we get, events, auctions, uploads, etc. we work these reports. The challenge is what I see as players not understanding the appropriate usage of these reports which in turn creates a sometimes unmanageable workload for the one or two PR's on at any given time. I would say about 80% of the reports are nonsense which we have to filter through just to get to the real issues. Knowing the 9+ age range on this game, it is not that surprising; however, "he called me a noob", "she won't marry me", "he stole my shells that I just dug", etc. make it difficult to get to the larger issues. This is further complicated by impatient players who spam the reports multiple times for the same issue.
On the other hand, our pms are spammed with "hi", "can I ask a question", "host events", "we demand an auction", "are you single", "can I have a doll or a statue?", or a reiteration of all of the said reports further creating more to filter through and duplicity.
Jailing. The current system is set up so that players are jailed based on the number of warnings received for specific offenses with a defined jail term depending on the combination. Unless it is an extenuating circumstance, PR's should not go right to jailing versus proper warning. This was done in the past, and created a situation of unfair and inconsistent jailing.
What should happen is the PR's should address the reports, in this case accusing racism, validate the claims and then warn and gag the player as necessary. If the behavior persists, additional warnings will result in jailing. As I said in extenuating circumstances, the offender could be jailed immediately but that is not the norm.
As you are aware, the PRA's are also in the process of hiring additional PR's which will help with some workload issues. What you can do to help us help you, is consider what I have laid out for you above and do not submit silly reports, spam us for the same issue repeatedly, or demand auctions and events. Rest assured, we do know that players enjoy and expect these thus the majority of us will do them regularly even though they are not a required part of our jobs.
Saying that staff don't care or are lazy is an unfair generalization and quite untrue. Everyone is entitled to their opinions and we are all far from perfect but I hope we can all try to remain open-minded and realize that if we didn't like helping people or want to make the game more enjoyable then we would not volunteer countless hours of our personal time to this cause.
And for goodness sakes, PLEASE DON'T ASK OF YOU CAN ASK A QUESTION. ASK
Rufus isn't staff on era? Not unless he came back

You are correct Mystickk, Rufus is not staff on iEra.

Well it is nice that he cares but the thing is we want to solve the problem not become part of the fight. Reporting it and leaving is the right thing to do and even if the administrators dont do anything about it you still did what was right. Even though the admins should man up and take control of the 9+ game that has so much vulgar language in it.

I prefer woman-up personally...
