So more information regarding everquest was released, and I'm truly shocked. If it truly lives up to what it says it will do, I think it'll be the most interactive MMO ever created. In another thread I said that Archeage is the greatest upcoming sandbox MMO, but I completely take that back. Everquest Next changes this by pretty much making the whole world shapable by players with stuff like destruction and other things.
Recently I've been getting bored of MMO's. I enjoy new ones for a few weeks, but then they start to get dull and repetitive once you've played through them. They all offer unique mechanics and fun things like Guild Wars 2's event system and Tera's action combat, but in the end they're both still made up of content that is consumed and eventually becomes old. Everquest supposedly will consist of player generated and dynamically generated content, so you never go through the same "theme park" content and you feel more into the world you play on. The world is constantly evolving and changing based on players, so you will log in to see new things every day and see stuff change in real time. A dungeon may remain unexplored for months before someone finds it, and they may share with just a couple friends, or they might make it known. Each server would look completely different based on how the players interact with it, so it's not like static content where people will just post locations of everything online.
Basically, if I understand correctly, it will never get old or run out of content because it is constantly being reshaped by the players, and dynamically changed. You will always feel like you're still exploring and discovering new stuff due to the way it changes, and a part of the world since you help shape it.
