brostep is just an insult people used to throw around at a lot of the dubstep songs back in 2009 and 2010. i never rly cared for it, but ya...skrillex is technically dubstep but really just trash. i always liked his house tunes a lot better, his dubstep always had solid intros/build up but the actual meat of all his songs lack substance. skrillex waters his songs down to the point where anyone can listen to it on any device, i think that's what really led to his success.

to someone who doesn't really know dubstep, 1:30 may sound too fast but that's actually the older style of dubstep. dubstep is defined at 140bpm and that is it right there. 3:20 would be considered brostep in comparison.

the sound you hear at 3:20 is in "half step" aka it sounds like 70bpm but it's still 140bpm. a lot of people who are new to the genre think that some dubstep songs are in ~70bpm but that's just false. most brostep tunes are like the 3:20 as opposed to the faster sounding 1:30. i like it all though, and borgore got me into dubstep so i guess i'm brostep/gorestep trash for life or something.
