Actually, video games do have influence on the emotional part of your brain, whereas changes in your mind are noticeable through a MRI scan, after playing for just one week. Most people who play 'shoot em' up games' are prone to suicidal thoughts, thoughts of homicide, and nothing positive, really. I play Call of Duty time to time... Yea it had a effect on me when I used to play maybe 5-6 hours a day.

If playing a video game is affecting your behavior and thought process then you need to stop playing games and go get help because that's not normal by any standards.
I've played shooters my entire adolescence and I've never had any abnormal thoughts of violent behavior. I'm actually kind of a pacifist, yet I still love violent games because I know its not reality.
