Pocket Monsters has been a series that has succeeded for so long, because of creative ideas, both genders can play it, a lot of content, and all members of the family will enjoy it, competitively, or casually.
And if you hate it, that's fine. But Pokémon will always be more successful then Call of Duty, because with X&Y, we are getting new evolution systems, more ways to battle, and a better online play. We don't need DLC to make a game better.
Im gonna go with my favorite pokemon, however they are a good match up. My zangoose can solo any elite four in five mins or less with some basic moves

Zangoose better get a Mega, or normal evolution.
This Pokemon has been rare, but not thrilling.
When I played Pokemon Ruby, when I was 5, this one was pretty cool, and had lots of charm. I've always felt it was held back though, unlike my favorite Pokemon Family, the Torchic Family.
Is that a bad egg? If so, corrupt their boxes to win.
Looks like my team Snapdragon will be making an appearance in XY.

The reason Charizard will never be Dragon/Fire and why the type combination will almost never be used (Reshiram the only offender) is because there is only one Pokemon that resists both STABs - Heatran. Every other Pokemon takes at least neutral damage from both STABs, which is incredibly overpowered in most settings. It's one saving grace that keeps it from being the end-all be-all of Ubers gameplay is the fact that it's weak to stealth rock and other Dragons that are faster than it.
Charizard also has base 100 speed which allows it to speed tie with all of the BST600 Pokemon and most outspeed or tie potent Dragon-types in OU (Haxorus, Hydreigon, Salamence).
