I honestly don't think rewards should be given at all past a 1k hat, and even then it's stretching it. There's no need to reward people to incentivize them to do a rather mundane, skill-less activity. It's pretty much the only reason people ever tower, and that's stupid design. I'd suggest actually spending time in making the tower 'game mode' actually enjoyable for the players instead of a grind to reach 1,000 hours. Maybe if towering actually becomes appealing and fun to play, maybe everyone will stop bitching and grinding for rewards. Guild Wars 2's World vs. World mode is the same general idea as Classic's towers (seiging towers, keeps, etc.) and is what Classic's towers should have been. There are actually skillful ways to play the game and it doesn't all rely on strength in numbers, and its overall and enjoyable and diverse experience. Classic's tower system relies 90% on strength in numbers, and all it literally is is just spamming sword and arrow, dying, respawning, running back just to repeat the same cycle. There is minimal skill involved, and almost everyone hates the actual activity. So why are we rewarding people for partaking in this activity? It doesn't make any sense. People in Guild Wars 2's WvW don't complain too much about lack of rewards, because they're actually having fun playing the game. That's how it should be for Classic. For any game.
