Can I play with wireless keyboard?

Gamepad support doesn't recognize the keyboard for my iPad, however it does work, (to an extent) It's very awkward. j,k,l,i, "work" what i mean by work is, "you can't strafe, you can't walk in diagonals, and when you press a direction, you move, stop, and then move. .... it's very awkward. Also, if you hit the key that has a +/= sign on it, on the keyboard, it will crash the app.
