@Shannon:
If it's a programm for e-Mails then ya, it constantly refreshes itself. But I don't know if it's effecting Graals client that much, however I just dislike v6. But what I mean with the off tab (I wasn't really certain atthat post) if you have to wait like minutes until you spar, without checking every minute if you spar or not, you'll be all skippy and may have a huge delay without any change of your latency, no matter if it's a rather high or low number.

v6 runs oddly, but that wasn't my point. I do understand what you mean, but still I can't get my Facebook client to skip like yours does. I've seen it happen on other games I've played, but if Graal does skip for me when I tab back to the page, it lasts for a fraction of a second. If that is what you were referring to, I can't see that having an impact on competitive play. I can definitely see it affecting certain people on, for example, older computers.
Honestly, Thallen is right about the way blink and latency work, and those are things you can't argue because there is only one correct answer. Everything else discussed was a matter of opinion, and while some people chose to takes sides,
everyone has the right to express their thoughts. Factual things, such as "delay is a product of latency" and "blink always behaves the same, every time" cannot be debated. If you don't understand it, you won't believe it. Then you guys started talking about how people who delay have an advantage... Honestly, that's all in your head. Just spar a bit smarter. It takes me like 6 seconds or less of trial and error to determine someone's delay in a spar, and if you know how to defend yourself well, you can pretty easily take advantage of it as if it were a handicap. I promise, just think of it a bit differently.
Again, back to the topic of the thread. IMO, sparring is nowhere near dead. I mean, just look at the huge discussion the a spar thread created! Every spar thread is hugely popular, to be honest. The sparrers just happen to be the players who aren't online 24/7 (not accusing anyone, making an exaggeration.)
