Pretty much the same attitude-wise, but a bit more players and a much younger crowd. Lag/delay weren't complained about quite as much and players weren't blamed nearly as much as they are now. I think an increase in competitiveness as the average age increased may be part of that. Also, the attitude is poisonous and spread easily through the community.
