Just got the last one on iOS a few days ago as it was free. Fun game, gorgeous graphics(of course)...
But so many simple flaws that are totally ruining the enjoyment for me. Shantae's hit range is far, but pathetic otherwise. It makes killing baddies just below or above her a massive pain. Especially when spiders drop down JUST above her attack range... Then you have flying monsters... Then you have quirks like monsters becoming "aware" of Shantae when you jump between planes before she even regains control. With enemies that shoot projectiles at her, this means they're already shooting at you before you can do anything. Enemies constantly respawning offscreen that shoot projectiles(purple scarecrows). No recoil when hit, making it easy to take more hits than necessary. In the battle tower monsters literally spawned ON you. Tiny platforms already occupied with monsters, but just outside your hit range. Warp towers are in places that make them useless as far as convenience goes. Oh, and no indication that the side of the screen leads to another area. Sometimes it goes to someplace, sometimes it's a wall.
Seems like nitpicking, but alltogether it takes a potentially great game and slowly eats away at you. Still playing it though, but it bugs me that it seems to be missing that small touch of attention to the gameplay itself that it all snowballs out of controls.
