The male gaze in Kill La Kill is so offputting, is it worth continuing? I've only seen episode one and I've heard plenty of good things about the show but frankly it's pretty disgusting.

Sakurasou is a serious emotional roller coaster, so if that's what you're looking for, then sure. Sharp shifts throughout the series that are either really depressing, joyful or somehow even both at the same time.
