Ofcourse one of the parts can be guns and some other features aswell can be implemented so that each part can be used when not in the group gun combination. Lets say one gun is the "The actual gun" it wouldn't shoot the Giant laser but regular bullets and only shoots giant laser only when combined with the other parts. one can be a small shield that works the same when attached or detached, but can have a bigger boost when attached no approximate protection number made. Maybe another could be a separate weapon such as a melee not sure what special feature it would have but I guess for Neo's main concept he probably was thinking that and etc..
