I think there was a lot of resentment because iphoners were able to make graal somewhat successful.
with more recognized names from pc working on ios servers and players from pc making the transition to the iphone world I think it has helped in reducing the hate/anger towards the iphoners.

A lot of it was bandwagoning hate while others just hated them because it was a new Era that had a lot of players. Then again, it could also be that the player base is full 10 year olds that think they're tough ****. I don't really know.
