Decided to start writing a science fiction short story. I've been working on it for a while. Right now it's basically just a bundle of scenes I put together whenever I had the inspiration to write. It's nowhere near complete, its more of an outline. Scenes are missing, a lot of things haven't been put in words yet. There won't be any narratives when the story is done, it takes a first person view.

Right now it's horribly unpolished, but you can read if you want. I have pretty much the entire outline of the story done, but many scenes are missing or unfinished .I kind of feel like I had to put something out, since my morale is starting to get low.


Basically what the story is about:


It takes place 200 years into the future.

A chemical was used worldwide for decontaminating the water supply for almost 200 years. While the consumers of this chemical suffered no direct damage, it carried of chance of causing a bizarre illness as a birth defect. This illness was undetectable, and is considered a mental disorder. There are no physical traits associated. Those with the illness suffer from a temptation to drink human blood. The illness develops later in adolescence. It is not genetic, it is not contagious. It took hundreds of years to discover that this chemical was the cause of the issue, but removing it from the supply did not remedy the problem. It was impossible to tell if someone's child would carry the disease, exactly how it developed within the brain, and who carried it. The disease persisted even after several generations of the chemical remaining unused. It is forever a possibility of being developed, and the probability of it occurring is unknown. It received the name vampirism, due to the concept of being tempted to drink blood. No other symptoms are known.


A character named Eugene goes through life living in this future world with this particular issue that has arisen. There are often vampire attacks against people, and he remains fearful/hateful of them.
