Pistols should have a shorter range for damage.
Rifles and stuff should have a higher range.

He's talking about damage fall-off where let's say a gun that hits someone within 5 blocks does full damage, but after that it loses 0.5 damage for every +2 blocks that it travels for a maximum fall-off of 3.5 damage after traveling a total of 19 blocks to hit their target (initial 5 included)
But I feel like it wouldn't really fit with any Graal server because none of them use damage ramp-up or even damage spread.
