Yes but thats not what Dusty said at all.

If it makes you feel better, I have talked to Rufus about the concept of a "council" being created where a handful of very experienced guild leaders would be gathered and guild changes and the like would be discussed/planned out with their input. Rufus had the same idea as well, it would be a very good way to go about making changes to those aspects of the game while keeping in touch with what's best for the playerbase.

Yes. My experience with this forum and in-game community is that there are very few people who can conceptualize and understand what would be good for the game. Too many people suggest and beg for things that narrowly benefit themselves. Not enough are able to understand that your own personal requirements might not be what makes the game more active and enjoyable.
I'm fine with a select few players choosing what happens, as long as they are intelligent and responsible individuals. I'd much rather see Rufus, Dusty, and FP4 handling changes rather than some handful of random guild leaders (or whatever the current idea is, I only skimmed). They're people who are smart enough to turn down something even when the vast majority support it. Just because a lot of people want something doesn't make it good or right for the game.
Like I said in another thread recently though, I'm pretty sure the difficulty isn't in finding the right ideas but more the people willing to volunteer their development skills to make them happen. Every single person in this thread is capable of coming up with ideas on how to make the game "better" (though I'm sure some of them are awful), but 1 or 2 people who have replied are actually capable of scripting, levels, and graphics.

Your post explains exactly why the council should not exist. Guild leaders will probably just support ideas that benefit themselves and will reject any sort of plan to make the game more challenging or entertaining if it gets in the way of what they're already doing.
