In terms of the plot, it was a bit stale with the whole good guys saving the day thing, but the characters made up for that in every way possible.
If the GoG characters somehow get implented in the next Avengers movie I'm going to explode because that will be the best film ever.

1st: it was written a long time ago so it wasn't very cheesy for its time period but now the plot does seem a bit unoriginal but its marvel so that's kinda acceptable seeing that is what there movies are like.
2nd: honestly the contrast of characters was way better than the avengers cause in the avengers they were all unnecessarily bitter and serious thus keeping the characters to similar.
