It's doing smaller, shorter stories before the next arc, which all points towards a eventual S3. New Aincrad will be featured in the Mother Rosario story (It's a mix between Alfheim and Aincrad). That's the next one after the current one that's airing.

I know but they're pulling a Date a Live with their ending and it pisses me off.
