It's great idea and goes with theme aswell, maybe also you could use the feathers etc you can collect could be used for skins on weapons in the future maybe? idk

Maybe! There are a lot of ideas. Recipes are very easy to create from a developer's point of view too, so adding new craftable items takes seconds
it just depends on how long it takes for graphics to get made.
