That thread was created in September 2013. Thallen created this one in March 2014. So when he made this thread he actually said sparring wasn't dead only five months before. He claimed in the OP that he wanted this to increase activity but only five months previously did he say that sparring wasn't dead. 
So that makes me wonder why he wanted this in the first place. It clearly isn't for the reasons he said. |

Comet made a comment a while back about people only pitching ideas that would bring a benefit to them if they get implemented and that is true most of the time. I think we both know why they want the hats, but they will never admit it in public. It embarrasses players to admit they want a hat because it makes them feel "important" because only a few people have it.
