Nerd and geek are used as insults often, meanings of words change or differ. If I call a girl a bitch some feel offended. On the other side, some don't and take it as a compliment (not talking about friends).

If you call me a nerd for being smarter than you, I will take it as a compliment. Shows you understand that my intellect goes beyond yours. I'll have the last laugh on that scenario. If you think that's an insult towards me, you're simply too simple-minded.
