I guess there's a little confusion, so here's what I'm thinking in my head this would look like:
You click on someones profile < more actions < an option called "add tag" or "add nickname" < you type in their name or how you want to know them
It appears next to their name or marital status as "_____" in their profile
Pretty simple. No events, no side quests, no complications. Just a simple way to keep a tab on someone you might forget in the future.

Ahhh, thought you meant the player themself can give themselves a proper account name. I get it now
