I agree, though if #4 was added practice spar would become harder because people wanting to casually spar without moving down.

Yes, aka player match. I think
if an award system were added for ranked matches, then people would do more ranked, while also sometimes spar player matches to "test out" a sword or "spar look" and also to warm up, then head to ranked for points and stats to count.
