I remember Rufus released a quest (event?) in his house awhile ago that was from Classic. Really dashed any interest I had in experiencing anything else from Classic PC.

Old Classic had a quantity over quality thing going for it... same with servers like UN. Yes, you'll find plenty of quests to do and possibly be able to share the experience with friends, but all of it was watered down and not in any way close to a Zelda experience. It was either tons of block pushing, trying to survive hordes of mobs, or "puzzles" that were mind-numbingly basic but time-consuming. For example in Sardon's there was a room where you had to slowly push a block to the other side while dealing with a constant barrage of stone balls being shot at you. So fun!
That's not even touching the whole "glitch" aspect where most quests were glitchy/broken. Oh, and because of the way things worked back then with no NPC-server it wasn't uncommon to enter a room and it was already completed for you. You could literally walk through entire quests if luck was on your side... and
that's what you ultimately hoped for! Instead of actually wanting to complete the quests, you were hoping you walked into a room that was already completed for you because of the myriad of problems I noted above. You completed the quests to get the rewards so you could actually compete with other players, not because they were enjoyable. Did I mention there were queues to fight bosses? And most of the time the bosses were broken and you had to unstick and do it all over again... yeah...
I'm not saying it was all a bad experience. Back when I played I do remember it being enjoyable, but not because of the actual content. But because of the people I met through the content, and going through these quests with other people(frustratingly). But in the end it was a quantity over quality deal, and the enjoyment, as per usual, came from the social aspect. This was content designed for ~100-300 players in mind, and would absolutely crumble under the current playercount. This kind of questing content needs to be reimagined for what Classic is currently, and something none of us are willing to rush into and screw up.
I guess though my experiences come from back when Graal was a bit unrefined, and things may have been better during Tyhm's management.
