If we made craftable guns, how would it work? Would we make each part separately and then bring the parts together at once when they're all created to form the final product? Or can you guys think of another way?

Yeah, that seems intuitive given the system encourages experimentation. The ability to make parts and THEN make guns will allow for logical and fair to figure out recipes.
Also, crafting quality. Replace the old "condition" text left over from iEra ported stuff with a system that determines how well a gun will preform in all areas. Quality ranges from "Ramshackle" (significantly weaker) to "Sturdy" (normal) to "Finely Crafted" (significantly stronger).
